Project 2

This project was about creating a website for a client by applying all the skills that we have learned over the past 2-3 months. Besides, the skills in Photoshop and other necessary softwares from the past were also helpful. I used Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver to complete this project. As a CEO of JuDaYo Visions, it was my responsibility to plan things out for the clients and be in charge of everything. But, in our team, we had no CEO's, because in a "Team" there is no "I" so we all played separate roles but equally in creating the website. As a founder of this company, I had been interviewed by two designers from the other groups. During the interview, I was asked many questions about the purpose and contents of what my expectations were for the company's website. After my co-workers was done interviewing other clients, we had a meeting to plan about the websites that they need to make for the other groups. We started off drawing flowcharts and wire frames. Then we created images for the website and edited them in Adobe Photoshop. As a matter of fact, it took me a while to finish creating the "GameSphere" that my client had asked me to create because I put a lot of details in it to make it look realistic. And finally, we started coding the webpage.

We used JavaScript to create a image slide show of the different angle views of the "GameSphere" and also for buttons to buy the GameSphere. Also, we used lots of CSS for the layout of the webpage and other effects. Since our client's website was more of selling a product "GameSphere", there was not much to put in the website. So we decided to create just a single page with the bio about CEO of the Company and specifications of the product "GameSphere" itself. Lastly, we all sat together and reviewed the website to see if we were missing anything and then published it online. Just in addition to the softwares that we used, we also used MS Word to create wireframe and storyboard of the client's website.

As a result of completing the website, I learned how to work as a team and a leader to make a website for a client. Besides one of the lessons that I learned from this project was the importance of time management. Our client's website wasn't the best since we were lacking time and were not able to time manage things. This project is relevant to Web Designing because this is how the real world is and web-designers always needs to be able to work with anyone and confront all the new challenges that they face. In the future, I can use these skills I used when I need to create a website for a client based on what the client demands and be able to withstand all of the obstacles.

Lab 9

Lab 9 was about creating a webpage which displays the current date and time, and it also presents a change in background of day and night whenever the button is clicked. I was able to apply this by using JavaScript. In addition, I used Adobe Dreamweaver to complete this lab as well. First, I inserted the functions, "UpdateTime( )" , "formatTime (value )", "formatTimeMS (value)" and "UpdateDate" to display the date and the current time on the web page. Then, I constructed two background images which represented the different time of a day by using Adobe Photoshop. After creating the two images, I made two buttons. Subsequently, whenever a user clicks either one of those two buttons, the background image changes to either daytime or nighttime depending on which button the user clicks on. In order to perform these actions, I used the function, "myFunction." Lastly, I reviewed my lab to check if there's anything else that needs to be fixed.

I learned how to display date and time through the use of JavaScript by completing this lab. I also learned how to change the content of an image. In the future, I can use the techniques I obtained from this lab when I need to create a web page that shows date and time and contains buttons that can alter the background image.

Lab 8

This lab was about making a list of prime numbers between 0 and 1000 by using Javascript. I used Adobe Dreamweaver and JavaScript for this lab. The lab was mostly done in the external JavaScript for this lab. I started off by typing in the code in a JavaScript document for this lab and then I used the function, "findPrime", to show prime numbers on a web page. I also used the function, "table( )", to create a table in which all prime numbers between 0 and 1000 are listed. By accomplishing these mechanisms, I was able to put all the prime numbers between 0 and 1000 in a table. At the conclusion of the lab, I reviewed my whole lab to see if there was anything that's needs to be troubleshooted.

As a result of this lab, I learned that JavaScript can generate numbers as well as tables. In the future, I can use the skills that I have acquired from this lab when I am urged to create a list of prime numbers or to work with mathematics in a webpage.

Lab 7

Lab 7 was about creating rollover images in Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Fireworks and JavaScript. For this lab, I used Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks and JavaScript to complete the lab. Firstly, I created a folder and placed all the pictures that I took during the walking trip. Then I opened Adobe Fireworks to created an animated rollover . In Fireworks, I used hot spots to create a rollover image. After creating the animated rollover image in Fireworks, I inserted the rollover image and made a table for images in Adobe Dreamweaver. After that, I created a new JavaScript document and inserted the scripts for rollover images. In this part, I needed to use six images and each image would appear if the mouse was hovered over the image. Lastly, I applied these scripts to the html document for this lab and published it online.

At the completion of this lab, I learned that there are many ways to create rollover images. I also learned that JavaScript can make a rollover image that consists of more than two images and hover effects to make it look more professional. These skills are helpful to me in the future because I can not only create rollover images using Adobe Dreamweaver and Fireworks, but also by using JavaScript. This provides me with a variety of options that I can create a rollover image.

Web Client Programming
Lab 2

This lab was about listing my three SMART goals using JavaScript. I used Adobe Dreamweaver to complete this lab. I started off by making three buttons using Javascript and defining the functions of each button. I am required to do this so that when a user clicks on one of those button, my SMART goal appears. The SMART goals are my goals for this semester as well as for this school year. I learned how to use JavaScript to make buttons by completing this lab. This lab is important to Web Design because web designers sometimes need to use pop-ups and buttons to make an interactive and responsive websites. These skills are helpful in the future when I need to use JavaScript to create buttons and define their function.

West Point Trip Reflection

The trip to The United States Military Academy at West Point was a very fascinating and pleasure experience. I was very fortunate to be on the trip as it is very rare for people to be able visit the campus. The only thing that I disliked was the long and tedious road trip, but the views were very nice and pleasant. This was a fairly new experience for me because I got to see what I don't usually see. As soon as we got there, we were greeted and provided with our name tags. Then we were told to go to the auditorium and listen to the welcome speech from one of the officers/professor. After the speech we were presented with their projects and works which included electrical engineering, radio engineering and a few more. Then we were provided with varieties of different pizzas for lunch. Then we were back in the auditorium again for raffle which I was 1 point away. Then, there were some of the current students in the university to give us a description of what college life was like and from what background they came from. At the end, we were taken for the campus tour which was the best part of the entire field trip.
