        In this lab i added text to my image and made it look like a poster. I only used the horizontal type tool for this lab. Then i added my text and added layer styles on it. The goal was to make it look like an official poster. I used two types of effects drop shadow and outer glow. Drop shadow made the text look 3D and the outer glow made it look more attractive. In addition to make it look more official i added filter to the image. Also, i used the warped text tool to the text and chose the wave effect because it related to the picture.

Visual Design

          In this lab i learned the skills that was taught in class to put the effects on your own picture. The main aim of this lab was to make a frame in a picture to make it look official and excellent. The shapes that i used were the cat print, thumb tack, snowflake 1, bass clef and question mark. I chose these colors because it matched with the shapes and was just the way that i wanted. These colors made it more attractive. I could have made it better by putting in some more style on the shapes and making it look official. My inspiration to put these shapes was to make the shapes relate to my picture according to the  background. It depends on how your frame is, the shape is sometimes difficult to use and sometimes easy because you don't just use the shapes for fun but to relate what the shapes mean to your picture and shows what the picture is expressing.

 Lab 8

     In this lab i took a picture from my camera uploads and then i took another picture that was of people playing basketball. For the first layer, i went to filter and to liquify and adjusted the filters that i wanted to. For the other one i duplicated the layer first and made it into 5 layers. Then, i went to filter gallery and picked the filters i liked for each layer and put it in. After that i labelled all the layers with the effects that i put in. At last i rendered, my picture and clicked on cloud and picked a cloud background with my own selection. I learned many things in this lab like putting in different effects in pictures and using my own ideas of creation on selecting the effects. I see myself using this skills to make my webpage creative and wonderful.

Lab 7

       What i learned in this lab was to use different types of tools such as Sponge tool, Smudge tool, Burn tool, Sharpen tool, Blur tool and Dodge tool. These tools helped brighten, blur and fade. The main thing that i learned in this lab was to make a picture perfect by clearing the part which made the picture look bad. For this, i used the Spot healing brush tool, healing brush tool and the patch tool. These tools allow you to erase the unwanted part of the picture and make it look perfect. In future, i would use this tools for making my families picture look perfect or making other peoples pictures and making it look perfect or to blur the unwanted part that is present in the picture.

         When i reached to the Sony Animation program, i was handed an application which i had to fill it. After i filled the application and gave it in, they as me to wait for a while because i reached early and most of the participants were not there yet. After several minutes, we were told that they are making different groups. After being placed in a group, i met students from different high schools and got to know them. Then, a staff came and introduced herself and started interviewing us. The staff members were great and very nice. 
          
          In the interview, we were asked about why we wanted to join this program. They asked from where did i hear about this program and who recommended it. Everyone gave their own answers and reasons. They also asked about what are you going to get out of this program and how much do you want to learn, and how will it help you in future. 
          
          This was a good experience for me because it helps me a lot in dealing with the same situations when i am applying for a job. I think i will probably get accepted because i did pretty good in the interview. Some of the specific skills involved in this experience is being able to think quick and being social. Some of the applicants had excellent points of view and were brilliant. At the end, we were all told to draw as a group and they told us to be creative.   

Lab 5

   In Lab 5 we had to put effects and make adjustments in a given image. The objective of the lab was to learn how to put effects in a image. At first, i placed the image and i clicked on the layer and rasterized it. Then, i changed the layer name into Original. Furthermore, i copied two layers and named it as effects and adjustments. After that, i put three images in a row. I selected the layer named effects and clicked on the option "fx". Then i made some adjustments and put in some effects to the image. I used Adobe Photoshop for this also.
   
   This lab is relevant to Visual Design, as you can see the name of the program "Visual Design", Visual means something to see and design means to modify it. So making adjustments and putting effects is modifying an image. I used the move tool, horizontal type tool and the magnetic lasso tool for this lab. This skills will help me get better in visual design and will make my life better.

Lab 4

      In Lab 4 we had to add a mask in a given image. Masks allows us to selectively edit parts of our image rather than the whole thing. The objective of the lab was to get used of using masks because it will make you feel a lot easier in editing images. I had to select the portion which i wanted to it be edited and then i used the layers and the mask to edit the image.

      

      I used Adobe Photoshop for this lab. This is relevant to Visual Design as it is based upon editing pictures and making it look a lot better. I used the move tool, magnetic lasso tool, magic wand tool and the horizontal type tool. I see this skills to be useful in future as in editing my own images or others images to make it look perfect.

Lab 3

   In Lab 3 we had to change the color of a given image into 4 different colors. The four different colors were color change, hue, saturate and desaturate. The objective of the lab was to be able to use colors to modify an image and make it look better. For this lab, we had to create 5 layers. One for the original, the second one for the color change, third one for hue, fourth one for saturate and the last one for desaturate. The main thing about this lab was to know your adjustments and what you were doing. You just needed to know the way of changing colors, that's it and you just repeat the same thing to other layers.

  

   I used Adobe Photoshop for this lab. This is relevant to Visual Design because sometimes colors can change the whole view of an image which will make the image look better and in Visual Design colors are the main source. I used the move tool and the horizontal type tool. This skills will help me get a better job in future and will help me achieve my goal of being successful in life.

Lab 2

   In Lab 2 we had to present our creativity by creating a character using specifically given fruits. The objective of the lab was to be creative and show how creative you are. For this lab, i used my own creativity to create a character by using a melon as the structure of a face,two pairs of carrot and blueberry as eyes, a kiwi as a mouth, a pear as a nose and a pair of radish to make it look like eyebrows. I know it sounds easy but i am just summing this up. In reality, it is not as easy as you think it is, you have to go through many steps for doing this.

   
   Like i said, Adobe Photoshop is the best software to use for this type of things. It is relevant to Visual Design because you need to show your creativity in Web design, without creativity your work will not be that unique. I used the move tool(for moving the fruits), elliptical marquee tool(for making the perfect selection of the fruits) and the zoom tool(for closing up which helps you give a better view of what you are doing). I see this skills as my future because it helps me be creative on my work and will help me a lot in future. 

Lab 1

 
         In the first lab we were all assigned with a camera and was assigned of taking pictures of nature, animals, people and objects. Then, after taking a minimum of 40 pictures we had to pick five of our images that we took and had to place them in the screen and adjusted them. After adjusting the the five images it, we had to label the five different types of Angle of view. The objective of the Lab was to understand the different types of angles of views in photography.
        
         Adobe Photoshop is the best in doing these type of photography stuffs. This lab is relevant to Visual Design because it helps us know what type of angle of view should you take for certain occasions. The tools that i used for this lab were Move tool and Type tool. This skills can be used in future for earning money just by doing this skills.

Reflection Questions:

     Masks allow you to selectively edit parts of your image rather than the whole thing. You can also lighten or sharpen certain portions in your image. Besides, it also allows you to control a layer's level of transparency.

    

    In masks, white represents that the edit is visible, black represents that the edit is not visible and the color red shows us the selected portion. The tools that i used in mask mode were the magnetic lasso tool and the magnifying tool. The magnetic lasso tool was the best choice of tool to feather my selection because the other tools were not helpful to select the hairs of the dog, which the magnetic lasso tool could. The magnifying tool helped me to take a closer look of the selection and to figure out if my selections were going good enough or not. The adjustment layers completely changed the color and the view of my selected portion in the image. I find masks much more easier than lassos because masks does not take a lot of time whereas, the lasso tools takes a lot of time selecting the portion perfectly.

    

    Therefore, masks are very helpful as it allows you to hide parts of the layers without harming a single pixel. As one can see how helpful masks are in Photoshop.
