Career Zone Post

The careers and jobs that the survey and the Who Do U Want 2 Be quiz suggested do not seem to match my interests because I am still undecided as to what I am going to be majoring in. The suggestions are somewhat true based on what I like and dislike but there was very limited questions which means that there are more careers that I might like. Therefore, I partially agree with the suggestions but not completely because there wasn't questions in the survey that I am very interested in. Besides, some of the questions made no sense because the question had no relevance in my interests. For that reason, I had to pick a choice in order to proceed on the next question which doesn't make the survey very true. As a result, I partially agree and partially disagree with the suggestions from the survey and the quiz.

Reflection Journal For Job Interview

On Tuesday, April 12 we were all assigned with our roles as an interviewee and interviewer. Firstly, we started off observing the two different examples of interviews which showed the comparison of a good and a bad interview. After observing, we discussed in groups about what the difference was and how we can fix some of the stuffs that people tend to do which will not look good in an interview. Then, we began with our own mock interviews and I was supposed to be an interviewer for the 1st round but then, due to some people being absent, I got assigned for an interviewee. My first interview was with Michael, for the Company Microsoft followed by McDonalds, Walmart, Verizon, IBM and Toyota. After the 1st round, I was assigned as an interviewer for the Toyota Company.

All in all, this was a good experience because everyone in our class took the interview very seriously. Besides, it also made us nervous even though we knew that this wasn't a real interview. In addition, I also learned how to answer a question briefly and in depth. Moreover, I also learned some tips on how to perform in an job interview or any other interview that I go to.

CTE Expo 2016

This year's CTE Expo wasn't that interesting compared to last year's because it seemed like some freshmen seemed a little disinterested and they didn't look as excited as last year's freshmen. CTE Expo took place throughout the day in every CTE Academy, Web-Design, Video and Apple. All the CTE students got involved in the CTE Expo by presenting all the amazing works that they have done during their days in CTE Academy. It started from 1st period and ended in 9th period. All the seniors had to participate for at least 4 periods, the juniors for 3 period and the sophomores for 2 periods. Everyone was well dressed and it made it provided the students with real life experience where companies presented their work for the clients to buy. So far, it was a very good experience because I learned how to engage clients and make them engage with us. Besides, I was able to answer some of the questions that the freshmen (clients) had and some of them were pretty interested.

Lab 12

This lab was about creating a JavaScript accordion. The software that I used for this lab was Adobe Dreamweaver CS6. First of all, I made an accordion by using html tags and CSS. Then, I typed the questions and the answers about my favorite subject, Math in every box. After that, I used the provided code to create an animation for the accordion to roll down when the mouse is over. For that I inserted the JavaScript and CSS to put in some effects on the accordion. Last but not least, I tested the lab to make sure that everything works.

At the conclusion of this lab, I learned how to use JavaScript to make an accordion. Also, this lab helped me to create a menu bar in Project 3. This lab is relevant to Web Design because the JavaScript accordion can make a website or web page interactive. In the future, I can use the skills I obtained from this lab when I need to create a website or web page that contains a JavaScript accordion menu bar.

Lab 11

Lab 11 was similar to the previous lab since we were learning the rudiments of animating in jQuery and javascript. Hence, this lab was about creating another animation which was to insert the hover over effect on a designated area of the webpage. For which I created two div boxes with my own choice of colors and applied the animation codes on the divs in order for it to function. As a result, whenever I brought my mouse over on top of the div, it highlights itself and made it seem like a button. I really liked this effect because I no longer had to use Photoshop to create a button nor did I use any button codes. It just made coding even simpler and fun because this effect was applicable to anything, be it a picture or a text font. In conclusion, I have learned a new way of creating a button using Javascript. This lab will help me apply these animations on my buttons in my future labs and projects.
